F Col Mockingjay follows Katniss Everdeen, a girl who has gone against all odds and done the unthinkable: escaped the hunger games twice. Now Katniss is the face of the rebellion against the Capitol. While trying to recover from injuries and leading the rebellion, she finds herself lost, trying to figure out who she can trust. A message of this book is to persevere against all odds. This message is throughout the whole book; Katniss is constantly fighting little battles with herself or with others. Another theme is courage to stand up for what you think is right. Katniss embodies this theme. I really liked how this book captured your attention. I liked how Collins wrote this through Katniss' eyes. I disliked how the ending leaves you almost unsatisfied, like something more needed to happen. But despite the few dislikes I have, I would recommend it for anyone to read. I give this book 4 stars, because there were some things that I disliked, but otherwise this is an outstanding book. |
