by Andrew E. | 976.522 Kra This is a book about the 1995 Mount Everest Disaster. It is told from the perspective of Jon Krakauer, a journalist who is the author of the book. Jon writes about the untimely deaths of the many climbers with aspirations of reaching the summit. Into Thin Air provides a very accurate and detailed description of the events leading up to the disaster as well as the disaster itself. Krakauer does a great job of growing an attachment between the reader and the characters. Krakauer writes many adventure books very strongly based on true stories but Into Thin Air is definitely up there as one of the best as it is bursting with detail and great visualizations. I would recommend this book to any person above the age of 12 who wants to read a great action packed book. This is one of my favorite books by far, a great read. |
